Our Purpose

Dedicated to Preserving & Sharing Royce Family History

A genealogical society focused on Robert Royce and his wife Mary, who arrived in America before 1648, settling first in Stratford Connecticut and then in New London by 1657. Robert was a shoemaker, a constable, a member of the General Assembly, and a tavern keeper. He died in 1676. We exist to collect, preserve, and share genealogical and historical information about the early Royce/Royse settlers and their descendants and to discover and recognize their connections to the American story.

Founders Cemetery, Norwich, Connecticut, where Jonathan Royce is honored.
